The Window desktop update adds the ability to use drag-and-drop to rearrange the items within several menus. Including the Programs, Documents and Favorites submenu of your Windows Start menu and the Favorites menu of your Internet Explorer. But this feature has a downside. If you never change the order (or if you do not have the desktop update), Windows automatically displays these menu in alphabetical order, which submenu items followed by non-menu items. Once you have made any change to the order, Windows will no longer provide this automatic sorting feature and there is no build-in option to turn it back on. This utility, MenuOrder, provides a way to set these menus back into order.
