Review

If you want to improve your computer operating performance, then Lan’s Menubar is the way to go. Designed for the Windows platforms, this slim utility turns a bumpy road to you favorite applications or files into a super fast highway ride. The program provides you with a popup menu from where you can start applications, open folders, files and execute Windows commands in one mouse click or keystroke. Added to this is the ability to organize your desktop for convenient computation by moving all icons and shortcuts to the Lan’s menu. Lan’s Menubar is easy to set up and use. Once it has been installed, you can open the menu by moving the mouse cursor to the upper left corner of the desktop. The menu has a list-like design where similar items can be grouped together with the help of plain or named separators. You can add a new item to the menu simply by dragging it from the desktop or Windows Explorer and dropping it on the Lan’s menu. However you can do this through the “Add new item” icon located on the Lan’s title bar or the “Insert item” option of the contextual menu. In the “Add item” dialog that opens, you can type in the name of an item, select an icon and immediately view it in the quick view window, assign a global hotkey and, finally, set and action to trigger. The action can be as simple as starting an application or opening a location, such as “My Computer”, “Control Panel” or “Printers and Files” and as intricate as executing a Windows command, for example, “Run”, “Log Off” or “Shutdown”. Also you can add the action that minimizes a window to the taskbar, restores it and opens the window full screen. Lan’s Menubar Features at a Glance - One-click access to applications, folders and files from the popup menu; - Open system folders and execute Windows commands; - Separators to group items on the menu; - Support of visual styles in Windows XP; - Hotkey support; - Minimal consumption of processing power.
