For a very low one-off cost you can take control of you own PAYE system, or if you already do your own PAYE you can dramatically reduce the time you spend doing it. When I say easy, I really mean easy, you can do the whole year's payroll for 1 employee in around 30 seconds - you just have to enter your Tax code and Gross Monthly Salary, (choose an NI category if it isn't the default A) and that's basically it. (that doesn't mean you can't vary monthly payments and tax codes within the year.
