Intranet Sleuthhound is an easy to use, simple and effective search software which can provide a key solution for obtaining instant access to any text-based information on a network. It helps you to generate and maintain your own Intranet search engine. Intranet Sleuthhound specifically works to index thousands of document files on a network. It seeks to eliminate the task of having to search across scattered directories to find what you're looking for. After installation, the program will find and index DOC-, TXT-, HTM-, HTML- and RTF-formatted files. It can be extended to locate files of any other format, including Adobe PDF via the use of additional Plug-Ins. Intranet Sleuthhound covers documents stored on local PCs, central servers and shared network resources. Intranet Sleuthhound provides users on a network access to search for documents using an ordinary Web browser. Simply type in a keyword, and the program quickly displays all relevant results. Each result includes a portion of the document that contains your keyword, and you can simply click the hyperlink to launch the file. Intranet Sleuthhound utilizes its own Web server, and its HTML template may be customized to reflect your company or network or website style. You can establish separate "Search Zones" which cover certain file formats as well as specific drives. From the HTML search page, a user simply selects the search zone to find related content. Each Search Zone may be updated on-demand or at a user defined interval via the program's built-in scheduling function.
