IPro Falcon is an Internet Application Server and Client Component suite, which facilitates secure and rapid communication between a wide range of client devices, such as PCs, Palms, and other wireless handheld devices, as well as databases. Falcon Server is implemented as an ISAPI filter that runs on Microsoft Internet Information Server 5.0 and Windows 2000, enabling communication with a database by any computer or other client device that is already connected to the Internet. Falcon supports all relational database platforms that can be connected to by a Microsoft Windows 2000 server. Falcon Clients are available as software components for PCs and handhelds. Client programs communicate directly with the database through SQL statements and stored procedures, or to custom business logic implemented with a scripting language, such as Active Server Pages and the ATL/MTS Falcon object. The client API is similar to the standard ADO/DAO interfaces, and is very easy for developers to learn. Falcon Server makes use of the high-performance ISAPI interface and an optimized C++ engine to deliver scalable performance to support demanding user loads. Data is both compressed and encrypted, and developers can rapidly and securely access data with a few lines of code. Falcon excels on wireless networks, where browser-based technology or even standard client/server is slow. Falcon empowers companies to Internet-enable their existing programs without sacrificing functionality or embarking on lengthy development cycles. This package includes the Falcon Client and help file, and the Demo Application executable along with its Visual Basic source code. It allows you to connect with the server at WebWare to test the speed. Requires Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000, IE 3.02 or higher.
