Protocol Analyser is a simple tool that can be used in place of an expensive dedicated Protocol Analyser for capturing and analyzing serial protocols. Protocol Analyser uses two standard COM Ports to monitor the status of all 6 RS232 control leads, as well as both directions of data, on a serial connection at up to 19200 bps. A special ‘Y’ cable is required to splice the COM Ports into the serial line to be monitored. All data in both directions is written to screen as decoded text. All control leads are displayed on screen as LED indicators. All data and all control lead status changes are written to Log files on disk.
