Review

A variation of Sudoku allowing easy play of ten linked Soduku puzzles. The free software comes with some free games. It allows the user to select how much assistance is given so the game is suitable for everyone except maybe an absolute beginner. Each month, a collection of games will be issued; some of these are free, some require a once off nominal registration fee, the remainder requires that the issue is purchased. Each game has one parent (a standard sudoku puzzle) which is linked to nine child puzzles. Each child is linked by nine cells to the parent puzzle, meaning that every cell on the parent is linked to one of the children. So how do you solve it? All you have to do is to solve each puzzle (typically starting with the child puzzles) as far as you can. This should start to provide clues for the parent puzzle and other children by eliminating potential candidates for the linked cells. Sooner or later, the parent puzzle can start to be solved. As you progress, each of the puzzles becomes more and more solvable. Eventually you can solve the parent and all of the children - game completed! Because only basic solution techniques are required (harder puzzles will come later!), this only needs a minimum of new learning before it can be enjoyed. In the words of one tester "it's fun because if you get stuck on one puzzle, you just go and play with the others".
