otraVista is a hardware-software complex of the access restriction to the web-pages with the undesirable content. The otraVista main purpose is to block the child's access to such Internet resources as the "sites for adults". We do not consider ourselves to have the right to divide sites on good and bad, on correct and wrong ones. We consider that nobody has the right to do that, except for the site visitors themselves. Therefore otraVista is not only and not so much the software, as the Internet user community, whose efforts define the criteria according to which the system distinguishes the "bad" Internet-resources from "good" ones. otraVista concerns to the category of the "home" software and it is intended first of all for use in the families where children are growing. The basic idea of the project is to protect the child from the negative consequences of uncontrolled looking through the undesirable resources, at the same time giving an easy access to all that is useful, interesting and important in the Internet. In the technical language, otraVista represents a database of the URLs (Uniform Resource Locator) containing the undesirable content and a subsystem for the access restriction to the Internet using the information of this database. The extensive database, its regular updating and replenishment, the search engine created by us capable of realizing the heuristic analysis of the sites content, the professionalism of the engineers-developers - all that allows protecting the child as much as possible from the undesirable Internet influence, allowing at the same time to visit freely game, educational, scientific and other resources. And the program complex otraVista is destined to assist parents in this not easy work of upbringing.
