BIAP named the product 'go'trieve,' because in simple terms, the product is an engine that runs on a user's desktop (Windows, Mac, or Linux), goes out on the Internet to retrieve information that you've programmed it to, and then assembles it into what we call a 'personal desktop portal.' But unlike other personalized services, such as MyYahoo, or Octopus.com, gotrieve doesn't limit you to predefined sources for your information -- you can take information from anywhere on the 'Net and put it on your portal. BIAP gotrieve gives users total control over information while at home or traveling and increases productivity by saving the user time. The program uses 'agents' to collect Web content from your chosen web sites to view: news, sports, weather, stock prices, etc. and posts this information to one centralized source.
