Review

Search your internet, not one chosen by the search engines! MarmotSearch can be likend to a personal web crawler/spider. It is a search engine which runs real time on your computer. It therefore gives fresh results, not ones cached from the past. It is a great tool to use when you need to search for keywords on int-r-anet sites, internet sites that are not indexed by the search engines, or sites which you feel should contain them, but the search engines may have missed. MarmotSearch uses a clear and logical ranking system for your keyword search based on highest value for each unique keyword found, medium value for keywords proximity, lowest value for total keywords found. Rank and status (number of pages searched, approximate total, and percent complete) are updated every 5 seconds. MarmotSearch is freeware, and has been tested on systems as meek as Pentium 75. Size and first/new version download are only 28 kilobytes. Installation will not change windows registry. It uses the complete content of every found page to search, including invisible text. Try the "finer search test" by first googling or yahooing for your keywords, then click and drag a few promising results into MarmotSearch. Invariably MarmotSearch will find additional pages. It was written in Java and so is platform and operating system independent. Tested on Linux, NT, XP, 2000, MacIntosh, Sun. It uses sparse CPU, but heavy internet and so can be surprisingly fast, especially if you have a fast internet connection, and don't search too deep.
