Review

Originally published in 1984 by First Star Software, Boulder Dash enjoyed huge popularity and was one of the very few computer games to be ported from home computers to arcade machines (contrary to the other way around). You control the game's brave prospector (a.k.a Rockford) to dig through dark and dangerous caves. Collect gems and diamonds. Avoid vile creatures like butterflies, fireflies and the sly amoeba. Beware of the falling rocks. The game demands that you have strong logic, decent reaction skills and a wish to waste some time enjoying this retro. - Original levels - Preserved sounds of the game's first release - Smooth controls: the character never gets stuck or jammed - Ability to vary speed of the game - Quick save and load - Both window and full screen modes available - Comprehensive help - No nag screens - Needs no emulators to run
